How does Bond market work

Demystifying the Bond market

The bond market is essentially a market where governments and companies borrow money from investors, and investors earn interest in return.

Stock Market Key Indicators

There are four financial metrics are the absolute foundation of stock valuation. They tell you how much profit a company makes and whether its current stock price is cheap or expensive compared to its history and its competitors.

📈 TTM EPS: 51.26 (+11.80% YoY)
  • What it means: Trailing Twelve Months Earnings Per Share. This is the total net profit the company made over the exact last 12 months, divided by its total number of outstanding shares.
  • Your Data: For every single share of this stock you own, the company generated ₹51.26 in pure profit.
  • YoY Meaning: Year-on-Year Growth. The company's ability to generate profit increased by +11.80% compared to the same 12-month period last year. This indicates a growing, healthy business.

📊 TTM PE: 13.82 (Low PE)
  • What it means: Price-to-Earnings Ratio. It tells you how many rupees investors are willing to pay for every ₹1 of profit the company makes. It is calculated by taking the current stock price and dividing it by the TTM EPS (51.26).
  • Your Data: The PE is 13.82. This means you are paying ₹13.82 to "buy" ₹1 of the company's earnings.
  • "Low PE" Meaning: The app flags this as "Low PE" because the stock is trading at a cheaper valuation multiple than its historical average. Investors are currently getting its earnings at a bargain price.

🗒 P/B: 1.82 (Low P/B)
  • What it means: Price-to-Book Ratio. It compares the company's market price to its "book value" (net asset value). If the company closed its doors today, sold every asset, and paid off all debts, the book value is what is left for shareholders.
  • Your Data: The P/B is 1.82. This means the stock is trading at 1.82 times the actual accounting worth of its underlying assets.
  • "Low P/B" Meaning: For most sectors, a P/B under 2 is considered safe and conservatively valued. It indicates the stock price isn't hyper-inflated by speculation and is well-supported by tangible assets.

🔎 Sector PE: 18.38
  • What it means: This is the average Price-to-Earnings ratio of all competing companies in the same industry (e.g., Banking, IT, Auto).
  • How to use it with your data: Compare the company's TTM PE (13.82) to the Sector PE (18.38). Because the stock's PE is lower than the sector average, the stock is undervalued relative to its peers. You are paying less for its profits than you would for an average company in the same industry.
